PFOA and PFOS
I am interested to know if it is possible to say if RAW material will have PFOA or PFOS in it?
are PEG 400 and PEG 6000 free from such substances? @Abdullah @ozgirl @Chemist77 -

If in US - believe the Bureau Veritas lab in Buffalo NY does this testing.

Ask your supplier. If they do this testing they should be able to provide you with this information. If they don’t test for these ingredients you will need to have the raw materials tested yourself at an accredited laboratory.

Those chemicals are widely used for example as seals or waterproofed (rather everythingproofed) coatings for a plethora of machines, tubings, or vessels which produce, transport or storage stuff such as, well, other chemicals like PEG’s 😉 . In addition to that, they may occur as common contaminant due their very high environmental persistance (they’re part of the family called forever chemicals) and omnipresent use (groundwater, soil etc.).
