  • Why do beginner formulators want to put milk in their emulsions?

Posted by Graillotion on February 15, 2023 at 2:43 pm

I am at a total loss for why beginners want to put milk in their products. Maybe someone can give me some insight? Someone suggested that Cleopatra was known to take milk bath, to which we do not know the results. Has this lore been passed down from this event?

Has skin…developed a digestive system, since I left school, and now metabolizes milk protein?

    Help me understand.

I want it to be more than then seeing who can gross out others the most! Help me see the light….so I stop throwing up in my mouth, every time I see these blogs.

This is an issue we will run into every year or so, but with Goat’s Milk. We will be approached by someone who makes their own “Goats Milk Cosmetics” and wants to sell more widely. It is a preservation nightmare.

Well aware of the preservation nightmare…. but do you know of ANY actual benefit?

That can’t be their motivation… to see how good their preservation system is? 🙂

      hehehe….cuz we all know….selection of goat’s milk….and good preservation selection….go hand in hand. ????

It’s simply marketing at the expense of safety. Little to no benefit.

I think the desire to add it bleeds over from the Goat’s Milk Soap crowd. There are some “amazing” (aka outrageous) claims about the benefits of goat’s milk in soap so I think people want to capture that in a lotion.

All I think of is the “ick” factor when it becomes contaminated due to poor preservation. ????
