    Came across this hyaluronic serum, just wondering what the Polysorbate is doing in there? I dont believe those extracts are oil-based (but maybe im wrong) so there’s nothing to solubilize here, right?

    Aqua, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Algae Extract, Sodium PCA, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

    You are actually might be wrong. I checked my supplier and CO2 extract, for example, of Aloe is actually oil-soluble.
    I used the word “might” because from the name in INCI list you can’t know if it is a CO2 extract or glycerin one.

    @GeorgeBenson

    The most likely to be oil-soluble would be the Chamomile Flower Extract, so perhaps PS 20 is being used to solubilize it.  Everything else would appear to be water-soluble.  Perhaps they are also using PS20 as a pentration enhancer.
