Silicones and Actives
Hi, this is a general question for the community that I have and thank you in advance for all your input!Do silicones (i.e., dimethicone, cyclmethicone) in an emulsion prevent any actives with a molecular weight of <500 daltons penetrate deep into skin due to the barrier it forms? Would it be necessary to have actives in a liposomal or micro emulsion/nano emulsion to get past this barrier? Or is this a non-issue? Thanks!
