Removing colour from gels and oils
I’m formulating some massage products in the form of gels and oils, using natural ingredients. I’d like to remove the colour to create clear (or lightened) final product, can anyone advise about how to decolourize? I’ve heard activated charcoal could possibly work but I’m unsure what the process is for this or what equipment I would need, particularly given the viscocity. Thanks.

best off having color removed from raw materials prior to formulation.Make sure color is not coming from reaction/discoloration in storage.Net/net what is the source of the problem?

Thank you, so for example, raw ingredients I am testing include sea moss gel, olive oil, avocado oil and sea buckthorn oil which have varying levels of colour

Right, exactly - do you have any suggestion as to how the colour could be removed?

I would contact supplier first and have them do it:or use other functionally equivalent materials.
