  • Sodium gluconate as pH adjuster?

Posted by beginnerformulator on April 12, 2022 at 10:09 pm

    Good day all,

Hope everyone is well. Does anyone have any experiences using sodium gluconate as a pH adjuster for cosmetic formulations? I know it is mainly used as a chelator and acts as a humectant. I read somewhere that sodium gluconate is a safer, less irritating alternative to sodium hydroxide. Just want to know if anyone has used it before to increase pH in formulations. Thank you.
