Am I using the free resources wrong?
Hello All!
Forgive me if this post isnt allowed here. I believe it is.
Im a hairstylist and Ive developed an interest in creating my own line of products for men such as pomades, clays, and other styling products. I went through most of the free resources to find a free starting formula but couldnt find what I was looking for. Maybe Im using those resources wrong or maybe the info I need just isnt on there. Has anybody else had luck finding a free pomade or styling wax on there?Im kind of frustrated and thinking of just hiring someone that knows what theyre doing which leads me part two of this post. What might I expect to pay for someone to formulate a pomade or similar mens styling product?
Be gentle, Im new here and not familiar with this side of the industry. Thanks in advance.

It is better ether you become a chemist or hire a chemist if you want make a product that is good enough that people buy it instead of all other similar products in market.
Free formulas on internet doesn’t give best or competitive results. They are just to give an idea how much of an ingredient you can use.

If you want to become a chemist and create formulas, then by all means learn how to become a formulator. You can do this by finding free formulas or going through a course like ours https://chemistscorner.com/learn-more/practical-cosmetic-formulating/
But if you really want to start a line of products, it would be a waste of your time to learn how to formulate. You should hire someone to make the formulas for you (with your input of course). Then focus on learning how to market and sell the product.
I dare say there are almost no successful brands that relied on the person who started the brand to know how to formulate.
Marketing & selling are completely different skills than learning to formulate.
