I am trying to make a very moisturizing and detangling shampoo my formula consists of

    Phase A
    Glycerin- 1.2%
    Panthenol- .4%
    Coconut Milk- 1.2%
    Phase B
    Decyl Glucoside- 25%
    AOS 40- 61%
    Cocamidopropyl Betaine- 5%
    Murumuru Seed Butter- .2%
    Babassu Oil- .2%
    Glycol Distearate- 4%

    Phase C
    Fragrance- .4%
    Euxyl 9010- .4%

    Honey- 1%
I haven’t formulated the product yet but I am just looking for any revisions that need to be made to my formula in order to obtain maximum moisturization and detangling. I want my shampoo to have a very creamy consistency similar to Dove body wash with high foaming content any suggestions besides Glycol Distearate because I am going to rely on it for its thickening properties, do I need a different thickener  and what are any other suggestion for ingredients that offer a creamy consistency not a pearlescent one. This is a 250 ml batch

@Organic890 If you want to have a samilar consistency to Dove Body Wash with your formula, it’d be a bit hard to reach the texture you get with free fatty acids and Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate. Also, foam density and creaminess from SCI will also be very hard to reach with your system. Preservation seems not sufficient and not broad spectrum. Finally, if you want to make a shampoo, then you’re missing silicones (especially for detangling).

What is your benchmark product in terms of performance?
The best working shampoo on the market for moisturizing while also providing detangling is this version of Pantene

It achieves this by using a blend of SLS, SLES, Cocamidopropyl Betaine for cleansing and Silicones for moisturizing / detangling. This combination provides the best performance in terms of moisturizing & detangling.

The blend of ingredients you list will not perform better than Pantene.

But if you are more concerned with the marketing story over performance, then you may get some benefit from Polyquat 7 & the surfactants you’ve chosen may clean well enough. But including oils like shea butter & babassu oil is just going to reduce the effectiveness of your shampoo in terms of cleaning. You shouldn’t use them

I’m looking to market my product after Design Essential Almond and Avocado Moisturizing and detangling shampoo I know this may be difficult but I want my shampoo to be sulfate free and silicone free. Are there any alternatives for these ingredients and what tweaks should be made to my formula I am willing to revise my entire formula, what ingredients should I leave in or add. Also what ingredient could I use in order to get a creamy effect and at what percentage as to where it isn’t depressing the foaming. The butters are just for marketing purposes

And any recommendations for powerful preservatives that are broad spectrum

And any recommendations for powerful preservatives that are broad spectrum ” - You can’t really do better than parabens and formaldehyde donors. If you’re looking for the most effective options, those are it.

But I suspect that wouldn’t work with your marketing position. So, you’ll need to provide more direction.

The honey and coconut milk will overwhelm your preservative and offer no perceivable benefit. Either remove them or reduce to 0.01% if they are for marketing. As Perry mentioned the butter and oil will reduce the effectiveness of your shampoo so reduce these to 0.01% as well.
That amount of Decyl glucoside is very high as is the AOS. Have a look at some starting formulations to get an idea of what the recommended usage rates are.
