Are all ester type ingredients unstable under non-neutral pH?
I saw polysorbates, SLES, synthetic emollients, emulsifiers, solubilizers, etc formulated along with exfoliating acids or alkaline fatty acid soaps in the market.Wouldn’t the pH be a problem for the esters? -

For most non-water soluble ones pH is about as much of an issue as it is for triglycerides and waxes. Slightly and, more so, water soluble esters are a bit more susceptible to hydrolysis. However, it takes quite extreme pH values, heat, and/or a fair amount of time to break them down to a noticeable level.

@Pharma Thank you. Seemingly not-prone-to-hydrolyse is more of another marketing gimmick.
