I have been blending Polymethylsilsesquioxane with HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer (and) Silica, and getting a stunning enhancement of textures…..but as my moniker says….I am always chasing the Holy Grail of texture.  So before I finalize a formula, I was wondering if anyone had combined Polymethylsilsesquioxane with Mica, silica (<15 micrometer) combined with spherical silica (250 nanometer).  I suspect this product (purchased through a re-packer) is RonaFlair® M-Sphere.

The seller says the latter gives a velvety feel?  I use some Dimethicone (and) Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, that already gives a kiss of velvet….and not sure if a face or hand cream needs more velvet???  (Working on one of each, at the moment.)

If anyone has worked with these ingredients in conjunction with Polymethylsilsesquioxane I would love to hear your thoughts.

And let me toss a question out to @Pharma:  Can the Mica Silica be used in a cationic emulsion without causing destabilization?

Mica, especially synthetic and/or highly purified ones such as RonaFlair, shouldn’t pose any trouble.
