    Hi

I’m starting to formulate my own hair care products and I’m looking for books that can help. Something that really focuses on the chemistry (formula ratios, preservatives, etc.) but also expands on different ingredients that can be used

    Thanks for all the help!

“Principles of Polymer Science and Technology in Cosmetics and Personal Care”, ed. by Des Goddard and Jim Gruber. If everyone studied that book this forum would be a lot quieter every day. That and Milt Rosen’s texts on surfactant chemistry.

Well I’ve seen bits of this book https://www.amazon.com/Conditioning-Agents-Cosmetic-Science-Technology/dp/0824719212 and it looks helpful, not to mention the editor is a big deal around here ;)

Plus it is of the same series that @chemicalmatt mentioned, though it is not exclusive to hair.
