Seeking a Antimicrobial Pesticide Chemist or Company that formulates
Posted by KianaDelarosche on April 27, 2020 at 9:44 pmMy partner and I are searching for a chemist or company that either currently has or is able to formulate a solution that can be used to kill germs and viruses such as COVID-19. This formulation must be able to be expelled in a bug bomb type of component, a humidifier like component, or an air freshener type of component.

That’s ridiculous, you’ll not going to find any serious person with that demand. Certain germs may be reduced to a certain level but forget about viruses. Best there is is called ‘scam’.

You could test it for yourself to see my point:
Fill your
ultrasonic humidifier with a high % solution of either H2O2, bleach, or
formaldehyde. Alternatively, use an ozone generator. These will
effectively turn you completely immune to any viral respiratory disease
because without airway mucosa….BTW I’d highly discourage from using alcohol instead, it creates dangerous fumes (pun intended).

There is this company that popped on my facebook feed that makes chlorine dioxide and claims that it protects against viruses and other microbial forms.

Chlorine dioxide is only useful for serious threats such as anthrax. Furthermore, it shouldn’t be used in an inhabited room but the desired application in the form of air humidifiers or air freshener indicates it is for use in close proximity of people. It is intended to be used in empty buildings which stay that way until it has fully degraded. ClO2 is highly toxic but, alas, promoted in certain media as silver bullet against various diseases such as cancer much like MMS aka Miracle Mineral Supplement or Master Mineral Solution.Sometimes I think to myself that we must be in the middle of a zombie apocalypse because so many people act either crazy or stupid and use social media more than their brains.

To tell the truth I did not find any proof about its efficacy against COVID-19, the conclusions were mere extrapolations. So personally I will not use it until at least a proof of its compatibility with humans emerges.

It’s about as good as hypochlorite and at sufficient concentration will kill any germ. The problem is not extrapolations (being a strong oxidant, extrapolating is a safe bet), the problem is compatibility with humans. It may be enough for tap water treatment or even pools but air treatment and lungs… no bueno.

Thank for you all of the feedback. As mentioned the product can certainly be dispelled via bug bomb that require evacuation. Are any of the chemicals listed above suitable for that purpose? Ofcourse, at some point the owners would need to come back to their space.
