Gross feeling in Hair Gel?
Im formulating hair care products, so I’m actually looking at products in my own stash that DONT work for me so I can examine the ingredients and figure out why, so I can either stay away from them or know I don’t want my product to work like that. I have two gels in particular that have this weird filmy almost plastic squeaky feeling. Its not very pleasant. Here are some of the top ingredients:
First Gel-Water, VP/VA Copolymer (I assume its this), Glycerine, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Jojoba Esters, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein…Oils and extracts listed, Aminomethyl Propanol, Carbomer (maybe this is it?)….Aloe Leaf Extract…and a few more.
Second Gel-Water, PVP (a possibility but is not in the above ingredients unless its similar or the same as VP/VA), Sorbitol, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Poly 20, Tetrasodium EDTA, Prop Glycol….again with wheat protein…Aloe Leaf Juice
Could the aloe, and proteins cause a strange texture when combined with Carbomer?
