Hi, i’m wondering if aluminium would interact with the ingredients in my product? The product contains niacinamide, some hydrosols, NAG, alpha arbutin…
Can exfoliating acid products like lactic acid and glycolic acid be stored in aluminium packaging too? Thank you!

Since it’s not possible to know everything in your formula or all the chemical reactions that could be going on, the only way you can answer this is to test it.

Thank you @Doreen. It’s great to know because I often use aluminum jars, because they are lightweight and reusable. I guess I need to invest in glass.

Some aluminium tubes (at least all those we use in the pharmacy) are covered by a fine layer of polymers which renders them fairly resistant to most cosmetic ingredients. Pure aluminium will dissolve in acidic pH resulting for example in aluminium lactate.

@Doreen @Pharma @ngarayeva001  Thank you all! This is very helpful. I will have to reconsider. maybe glass would be a better choice for me.
