  • Help formulating a high hold, low shine hair clay

    Hello everyone,

I’ve been working on formulating a hair clay. The tests in the image are 5 of about 30 poorly documented attempts. There is very little to no information I’ve found for this specific cosmetic product. The first 4 above came out either rock hard or very candle-like. The 5th one was the best but was gritty and didn’t distribute in the hair well at all, also had some shine.

All of these tests were done by first melting down beeswax in a double boiler, then adding the other oils until homogenous, then adding clay. The numbers are in grams (small test batches)

I have access to more ingredients but the small leads I’ve found included the ones above.

Any advice on what to add add to this/take away/change ratios?
