  Preservation of acid products

  Hi,

  I was wondering if formulations with a pH of 3 require preservation or are they self-preserving?

  I’ll be working on a 2% salicylic acid serum with a pH of 3 so wondering if that would require a preservative. And if so, which one? Would geogard ECT work for it? In what %? 

  Please help; I’m new here. Thank you.
