    Hi,

I am reacting to this formula, its giving Small red bumps on my dehydrated skin. Am I reacting to Niacinamide or Sepiplus 400 or Phenoxyethanol or is it something wrong with the formula.

Also wondering if niacinamide differs from supplier to supplier.

    Water 89.5
    Sepicalm VG 2.5
    Niacimande 2
    Panthenol DL 0.5
    Allantoin 0.5

    Hyaluronic acid 0.05
    Glycerin 1.25
    Xanthan 0.1
    Sepiplus 400 1.25
    PE 9010

Sepicalm VG is - Sodium Palmitoyl Proline, Nymphaea Alba Flower

Sepiplus 400 - Polyacrylate 13 (and) Polyisobutene (and) Polysorbate 20

    Pls help.

I should think the most likely culprit is the niacinamide. Make a 2% solution of niacinamide and do a patch test for 24 hours and record the results.

Phenoxyethanol in the PE9010 could be the reason.

Thanks, I will eliminate it and see.

@Thota The reaction I’ve seen from phenoxyethanol tends to be subjective irritation in the form of burning or warming (no appearance of irritation in the form of redness or scaling). I would just do a quick knock-out experiment to try to narrow it down. That’s the easiest way.
