  Adding Dimethicone to Lip Balm?

  Hello all! How can I add dimethicone to stick lip balm formulation? A typical sample formula below (from Mountain Majestic Sage):

  • 20% Beeswax
  • 25% Shea Butter
  • 15% Cocoa Butter
  • 40% liquid oil

  Do I need to include an emulsifier/solubilizer? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

  Try it and see. Dimethicone is not miscible with any of those ingredients but could be coupled with an ester.
