Preservative for an O/W emulsion with 20% of Kaolin clay
Hi All,
I formulated face gommage (gentle scrub) with a high content of clay. This is a O/W emulsion and I am concerned about preservative. As far as I know it is difficult to preserve clay. I can not decrease it’s amount, because it’s a buffer scrub and it suppose to peel off, so I need quite a lot of clay. Currently I preserve it with Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin, but I suspect it’s not enough. Would parabens be more effective, or I should use a combination of parabens and Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin?
