Grey brown base, heat related?
Hi all. My formula has been thoroughly tested and I am sure this wasn’t happening with the prototypes.
Can anyone explain why my product appears to be producing this heavy grey undertone when blended/smudged? It is immediately much darker in colour when swatched over an oily patch (skin/eyelid) which obviously is terrible.
Would any of my ingredients be compromised in a warm space? Is this a mixing/blending issue during production (overmixing/undermixing)
I use a spice grinder currently.

To me it looks like your pigment load is very high. Try to reduce to a quarter of that in size. Add whats left to make 100% to the starches. If pigment is streaking, maybe try bashing it with mortar then grinding.

it is normal for pigments to darken (oxidize) when in contact with the skin’s oils.
but yeah, in this case, it’s just waaaay too much pigment. because you can see the bottom part is darker because it reacted with your skin, while the top dry layer is fine. try reducing the % of pigments and it will probably be fine.
