Decyl Glucoside - Allergen of the year: 2.2% contact dermatitis rate in 2016 - any alternatives?
Since 2009 contact dermatitis rates of Decyl Glucoside has risen from below 0.65% to 2.2% in 2016, with the highest incidence among females over 40 with a history of dermatitis.
http://www.mdedge.com/edermatologynews/article/132615/contact-dermatitis/ecofriendly-surfactant-allergen-yearThis is a concerning development, and IMO warrants adding product warnings and patch test instructions on products containing it (even wash off ones).
Are there any other mild, non-drying surfactants that have significantly lower incidence of contact dermatitis?
