  Bees wax vs micro wax / castor oil vs coconut oil in pomade

  hi ive increased the micro wax content in my pomade recipe 

  yields 50g

  30g wax
  15g beeswax
  15g microwax

  7g petrolatum 
  3g lanolin 
  5g castor oil
  5g coco oil
  1g essential oil 

  just a quick question 
  i realized using a 50/50 micro wax to beeswax makes it spread a bit better but planning to do a 60/40 and 70/30 cariant

  alao I didn’t see much difference in using just coconut oil or just castor oil so I used 50/50 of each

  coreect me if included wrong tho. Any observations in using castor oil vs coco oil except the costing! Thanks

  Just a quick note, this Formula would be much easier to critique if you converted it to wt/wt % notation. With you using weights at least, it is a simple conversion. Raw materials are generally discussed in percentage usage rates and as such the discussion is facilitated when we are all on the same page.

  My bad about that

  beeswax 30%
  microwax 30%
  Petrolatum 14%
  lanolin 5%
  castor oil 10%
  cocooil 10%
  essential oil 1%

  i would like to know cause I made a 50/50 of the beeswax and microwax and it spread out better but I think I lost the hold of it.

  also by using castor oil compared to coco oil would it help the spreadability?

  You need aluminum stearate for spreadability .

  Hey Drbob I haven’t seen that ingredient in most pomades I use  any side effect?
