  • Looking For Cosmetic Formulation Consultant / Start-Up Batch Manufacturing

Hi there, My name is Brianna Faith and I’m an 18 year old entrepreneur. I’ve been working on formulations for my cosmetics company with local manufacturers for about two years but they have become extremely busy and I’m looking for someone to help me finish off the very end of my formula.

I’m trying to make vegan liquid to matte lipsticks and I recently found out that a New York Times best selling author has been writing about my company and myself in his most recent book, so naturally I’d like to be able to have some product ready by the time the book comes out.

I have a small amount of money to work with but if you have a company/the knowledge that could help me finish my formula and/or can manufacture small batches for a start-up, let me know!

I think you will find it difficult to find anyone willing to “finish off the very end of my formula”, particularly with such esoteric products as “vegan liquid to matte lipsticks”. Experienced chemists/formulators will be put off by your inexperience as they will have probably gone through this sort of thing previously and had to completely reformulate to obtain a viable product.

Another point is that name dropping such as “New York Times” and hints of “best selling authors” don’t do anything to encourage a positive response.

I’ve noticed you have a previous discussion here https://chemistscorner.com/cosmeticsciencetalk/discussion/2122/bold-liquid-to-matte-lipstcks#latest effectively making the same request.

If you want advice on how to solve specific problems with your formula, and your’re willing to divulge your formula, we’d be happy to suggest directions for your research, and new raw materials to try.

Otherwise, your best bet would probably be to contact the various cosmetic chemist master’s degree programs, and see if one of the students or staff would be willing to help you.
