Hair Colour Gel/Spray
Hello all!
So I’m tinkering with a couple of novel products, at this stage just for myself.
Have made a very simple anhydrous dye color spray, intended to stay on the hair (temp), wondering if there is anything that I could use that will offer some sort of transfer resistance without losing all the shine. I’ve done a non transfer version and of course its matte and looks like sand on hair.Alternative is a hydro/alc gel, but same problem with shine… can anyone suggest a polymer that may be able to help here? Mostly what Ive found with gel and cream temp hair color formulas cant give me what I need - quick dry time, non transfer and shine. I get 2 out of 3 with shine being knocked out most of the time. Any suggestions?

Ok, simple spray shine liquid spray, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, ethanol, dye. I dont have exact % as I’m really just tinkering and using the dollop system atm. Feel like I’m a bit overloaded with both product variety and advertising claims for a lot of fixative polymers, I probably need some suggestions for fixatives to start some more research and testing that would fit into this simple mix. I need transfer resistance and shine most importantly, and flexible hold so as not to make very fine hair crunchy.

I’d suggest using one of the Gantrez series from Ashland, or the Luviset series from BASF; your distributor should be able to advise which one is best suited to your product

Thanks Bill_Toge. Yes I have ordered some BASF products, they should do the trick. I’m trying to teach myself the KISS method and not get carried away with marketing.
