    Hi Chaps,

I’ve not been too active on here of late and I guess I need to spend more time on this forum.

I have a question about formulating and manufacturing of stable liposomes. I understand the theory of encapsulating an active within a sphere of phospholipids but I guess there is much more to it than that.

What equipment is needed? Do you have recommendations for bulk manufacture?

Other than Lecithin, (I do have access to other phospholipids) what ingredients (other than the actives, say Curcumins) would you recommend?

I believe this does require high energy input to achieve this, but beyond that, I don’t have much idea. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Gooooooogle is your friend. Just look up Liposome preparation

In my view, liposomes are almost on the same level as fairy dust in cosmetic products. Like microcapsules, the majority of the payload in a liposome remains there, never to reach the target.

Google can be your worst enemy at times - its always hard to find the authoritative information and if you don’t know the names of the equipment to search for, you can search forever.

I’m not looking for cosmetic use - I tend to work in the dietary supplement industry and there seems to be a lot of interest in Liposomes in the industry at present. Since preparation is the same whether it is cosmetic or pharmaceutical…. I just thought I would ask.
