Hello, im dont have background in chemist and recently im experimenting on waterbased pomade and failed so many times.
i want to make product that watersolube, with hold and matte shine.
last composition that i tried is

    (50gr batch)
    Phase A
    Water                           : 80%
    Glycerin                        : 5%
    Triethanolamine           : 0.3%

    Phase B
    Stearic acid                  : 4%
    Beeswax (natural)         : 5%
    Extra virgin olive oil      :2%
    Ctearyl alcohol              : 2%

    Phase C
    DMDM Hydantoin         : 1%
    Fragrance oil                : 0.7%

Heat phase A and B in diffrent mixing bowl -  pour B into A - stir it about 3mins - pour C into it

Turn out that formula became creamy like lotion and when rubbing it to palm its make palm white, when applying it to hair its make hair wet looking/shiny but no hold and when rinse it with water yes it is watersolube, but the water also became white.

    things that i tried is
    - change Beeswax with PEG 8 beeswax
    - change EVOO with PEG 40 HCO
    - Removing stearic acid and ctearyl alcohol with CET-20 (oil water emulsifier failed)

is there missing ingredients in my formula?
am i did someting wrong when mixing phase abc?
any suggestion would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

This looks like a formula for skin moisturizer. Try adding ceteareth-25, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate and PVP/PMMA crosspolymer to add hold.

There doesn’t appear to be enough oily material (non-volatiles) to give a lasting hold.
Old types (e.g Brylcreem) have a large content of mineral oil.

    Brylcreem declared formula:

Aqua, Paraffinium Liquidium, Cera Alba, Hydrogenated Rapessed Oil,
Petrolatum, Glyceryl Stearate, Parfum, Limonene, Linalool, Citral,
Geraniol, Benzyl Alcohol, Lanolin Alcohol, Calcium Hydroxide, Behenic
Acid, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed
    Wheat Starch

    Note: Limonene, Linalool, Citral,
Geraniol are part of the perfume.
    Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed
Wheat Starch are not part of the original formula.
I think also that behenic acid replaces stearic acid from the old formula.
