• Hand Wash Foam

    Dear All

I’m trying to make a hand foam formula which is basically consists of SLES , CAPB and Glycerin .

I prepared it by mixing SLES ,CAPB, and oil base fragrance then i add it slowly to R.O water and mix until obtaining clear solution then i have checked the sample after 2 days and a white precipitation was found at the bottom .

What could be the reason for this problem ?

    Dear @Belassi
    Thank you for your replaying
I think also the problem coming from fragrance because i did experiment for each alone with water and there was not any precipitate

Try using a solubilizer for the fragrance with high HLB like tween 20, tween 80 or PEG 40 hydrogenated Castor oil at 0.5-1% . This might solve slight instability issues

Try alternative fragrances. This is an unusual problem. It is usually possible to include 1% fragrance in a surfactant base provided the base has a sufficiently high proportion of active material.

Kingstone if you describe the complete list of ingredients and percentage then solution would be easy

if the fragrance is separating it’d rise to the top, rather than fall to the bottom

could you show us a photo of this precipitate?

    The Formula is
    SLES 4 %
    CAPB 3 %
    Fragrance 0.1 %
    Preservative 0.1 %
All those ingredients mixed together then added slowly to the Aqua (92.8 %)

unfortunately i can’t capture photo because once i mix it ,the precipitate solve it self in the solution !

try adding the ingredients one after the other, instead of mixing them together

    what preservative are you using?
