Salicylic Acid crystallization
I’m having
a difficult time keeping salicylic acid from recrystallizing. I managed to
dissolve 10 % in a solution of 75 % 1,3-propanediol and 15 % propylene glycol
and it stayed dissolved for over 1 week (I tossed it after that). However when
I added water to the solution, it almost immediately recrystallized.I started
out by mixing and heating the three ingredients in a beaker until dissolved. In
a separate beaker, I mixed water, glycerin and preservative. I then combined both
phases and recrystallization occurred. I heated the mixture and everything
dissolved nicely, however when it cooled down it happened again.Any recommendation?

4,50propylene glycol 15,00 0,90 salicylic acid 10,00 0,60 PHASE B % g distilled water 76,00 22,80 glycerin 3,00 0,90 Phenoxyethanol,Ethylhexylglycerin (Euxyl PE 9010)
1,00 0,30 Edit: As you can see I’m using 6 grams of phase A to get a total of 2 % salicylic acid in the final product which is 30 grams.
