  Hair spray with salt

  I have to formulate a thickening leave-on hair Spray in order to create a “beachy style” with waves on hair. I think about using salt but without leaving a greasy film on hair. A lot of company using Magnesium Sulfate. 

  
  

  Do you think there is a difference if I use Sodium Chloride ?       

  Do you have any suggestions of ingredient can I use in this spray ?

  You haven’t provided enough information for someone to answer.  What are all the ingredients in your formula?

  It is just : 

  -Water

  -Salt (sodium chloride or magnesium sulfate or the both)

  -Glycerin

  -Panthenol

  -Propylene glycol

  -PVP (maybe, just to maintain waves on hair)

  Glycerin and Propylene Glycol can leave a heavy feeling on hair. I doubt a high level of salt would have that effect.

  you get the same effect with any type of salt; whether it’s magnesium sulphate or sodium chloride makes no difference
