  • Jojoba Oil Freezing Point

    Hello,

Research I have done indicates 100% pure jojoba oil should solidify in the refrigerator.  The freezing point of jojoba oil is 10.6 – 7.0 C.  And as long as the temperature in the refrigerator is below this range, jojoba oil should solidify, right?

However, I have one source claiming that jojoba will remain liquid in the refrigerator (assuming the temperature guidelines are met) if some of the waxy esters are removed from it.  I question this claim and am seeking advice. Since jojoba oil is by definition a liquid wax ester, is it even physically possible to remove the waxy esters?  Is this source way off track?
Can anyone tell me a scenario when 100% pure jojoba oil will remain liquid in the refrigerator?
Thanks in advance for any input.
