How much tocopherol should be used in an oil solution to prevent oxidation ?

What kind of oil? For example, mineral oil and most other synthetic oils don’t need any. Oils that are highly unstable will need more than more stable ones.
Also, tocopherol is not very good at preventing oxidation. I’d find another anti-oxidant if it were me. -
You can add anywhere between 0.5% and 1.0% Tocopherol. You might also want to consider adding Rosemary Extract at the same percentages. -
Thanks guys; oils being referred to include castor oil and coconut oil. There is some beeswax too but not entirely sure whether that would need protection from oxidation.
So 0.5% in the oil phase, is that correct Mark ?Also, is tocopherol suitable for heating (100c) and will it retain its anti-oxidation effects ? -
Why are you heating to 100C? That’s unusually high … generally 75C to 80C is sufficient.
