  Alcohol Thickener

  We are working on a formula that we need to thicken with high concentrations of Alcohol. Any suggestions?

  If you are looking to thicken alcohol based products you will really be looking at the technology used in making hand sanitizers which is what Carbopol Ultrez 21 excels at. Read closely and use the recommended neutralizers that they endorse for the appropriate alcohol level. For more info read THIS also.

  Great input @ Microformulation, though owing to cost restraints I use Carbomer 940 and it works great too with around 62% ethanol. Although had to add a little glycerol as plasticizer to avoid the balling of the polymer.
