    Hi All,

I’m making my own liquid to matte lipsticks and the formula seems to work fine. However, I notice a couple things different with the consistency using different powders which I’m trying to fix. I use the same exact formula for all the lipsticks I make and just noticed with certain 1’s I cant get the same opacity.

    Example:

    1. If i use Red 7 Lake the formula is fine but If I use Red 27 Lake the formula goes on streaky and doesn’t render the same results.

Also, noticed any Iron Oxide I use be it Red, Black or Brown makes for a perfect liquid lipstick. The struggle is always within the FD&C and D&C colors that I have either streaking or blotting results. I’ve tried Magnesium Stearate, Magnesium Myristate, Zinc Iron Oxide. I could use Titanium and it works but alters the color.

    My question is:

What could I use to make those troublesome colors react in the same way as the oxides?
