    Hey all,

I try to learn theory of ingredients to use in cosmetics. So i am for example reading the ‘handbook of surfactants’ by porter. It is relatively old (published in 1991), but available in my company.

    My questions:
Have there been strong changes in surfactant science so that i should buy a new one?
Can you suggest some literature that iseasy to uunterstand for beginners?

    Thanks!
    Lara

Our Beginning Cosmetic Chemistry is a good one for beginners.

But surfactant science hasn’t changed much since 1991 except there is more of an emphasis on plant derived starting materials.  Also, some of the trade names may have changed.
