1. I want to make very small runs of cosmetics. I was hoping to find white eye shadow, brow powder, blush, etc already in metal containers and I can add my own color.

Do you know any companies where I can buy the makeup in this way?

2. Can you lead me in the right direction of a “small run” cosmetic machine that will add the makeup color for me?

Can’t be done in any way that would produce even barely adequate products.

What is your budget? I was looking for a similar thing for one of our clients (my company doesn’t do color cosmetics) and it turns out several companies out there sell and label pre-made products. They have a warehouse with unlabeled products ready to go and fairly extensive catalog.

You won’t be adding the colors yourself because that’s not how formulations are made in color cosmetics (ie. you can’t start with a white base and add colors). You will choose colors from an existing range of colors then put them in your labeled packaging.

The company I was leaning towards was charging about $7.00 for an an eyeshadow, for a quantity of 50-500 units. Private message me if you want more information about this company. They also come up on Google searches on the first page so you can start from there.

I’ve looked into this a while ago and I did find a system that you might be able to use.

Bare mineral makeup is generally regarded as a high-end product but it doesn’t seem that difficult to make. I investigated the pricing and discovered that I could source milled oxides at quite a low price for the colours; those plus zinc, titanium oxide, and a few other agents, can be combined as free powder to make a bare mineral makeup. The next question was how to dispense. I discovered a fancy dispenser-brush with pump available in China for $5 per unit. It comprises a clear plastic tube with a push button pump at one end and a brush at the other, very handy to carry in a handbag.
