P & G really likes to preserve their products
13 preservatives in a simple conditioner? Isn’t this a bit overkill?

Not to forget the anti-microbial efficacy of the cationics.
Maybe this potion can be used @ 1% in other cationic and non-ionic emulsions as a preservative

My guess would be that all of the extracts come with their own preservative system, and P&G was either too lazy or to cheap to ask for special versions with a common preservative system.

Bobzchemist - interesting find. Antimicrobial agents often have synergistic effects…perhaps this is PG’s way of taking full advantage of that as a way to save on cost of preservatives?

I agree with Bob. Most likely those are just residual preservatives in their extracts & proteins. They probably have a new regulatory person who makes them list every possible ingredient.

@The_Microbiologist - I doubt they would save enough money by using a lower level of preservatives. Preservatives just do not add that much cost to the formulation. At my former company if we removed all preservatives from all our hair products it would unlikely have saved more than $200,000 a year.
