    Is there really anything out there which might conceal the Whitening from Sodium Silicate solution?

    Further, any suggestion on what else might work equally well as Sod. Silicate?

    Looking forward for comments!

    Hello Mentors!

    I am just re-posting to make this thread alive!

    I wanted to know if anyone has any experience working with Sodium Silicate Solution. If yes, I wanted to know if there is a specific process to keep in mind or specific ingredients to reduce white film?

    Looking forward to learn!

    Thanks

    What else do you have in your formulation?

    Sodium silicate is a white powder. While it is soluble in water, when the water dries, it returns to being a white powder.

    A film of another non-volatile liquid can help conceal the whiteness. What other materials have you tried?

    @David and Bob,

    I am using a N Sodium Silicate Clear which I believe is a 40% Soln.

    Apart from that, its just a Gel base thickenend with Veegum Ultra and Sodium Hyaluronate.

    I might try Dimethicone as a non-volatile liquid..

    try phenyl trimethicone also.

    What is the sodium silicate being used for?

    use something other than sodium silicate for your gel; it effectively acts as cement, and will leave a residue on absolutely everything it touches

    just out of interest, what’s the pH of your gel?
