The catch is USP or non USP petroleum have the same CAS number. -

Did suspect some fishy business, because the item doesn’t have batch number. Complaint, and got a replacement but batch number doesn’t tally with the CoA. Thanks for the input.
And yes, this experience add extra measures in validating raw material coming in.
Cant believe some people still do this in their business.Any other test I should do to validate the supplied Petroleum Jelly prior use?

Wow…
So what is the norm out there then (for cosmetics such as lotion/ointment)? Just grab a ‘standard’ plastic packaging like LDPE/HDPE and run PET only?My question was originated from my observation::: when I stored the petrolatum based product in a zip lock bag, it made the bag creased. Assuming there is some kind of reaction …. -
I am aware of stability test, but how far will it cover leaching of plastic/container to the content?

Thank you.As for making water-in-petrolatum emulsion, I presume we also need emulsifier don’t we? Or is there a way to avoid it altogether, yet still have a stable emulsion (considering that my water part may be as low as 10%)? (sound silly but just trying to get the trick of the trade - if any;)
