I don’t want to hijack the discussion, but I’ve seen so many offers over the internet of Vitamin C/Ferulic acid  serums and I wonder how they get around the patent issue. Are they too small and fly under the radar? or, they use less than 0.2% of ferulic acid or its derivative, which is the lowest concentration claimed by the patent.

Thank you for your comments. To work on my prototypes, I am using IKA Eurostar overhead mixer with a 4-blade propeller, but as it could be expected, it does not produce enough shear to get a fine emulsion and also introduces too much air into the mix. So, I would like to get a high shear emulsifier, but the brand name ones are out of my reach and that is the reason I looked into these cheap ones

I don’t know of a supplier in the EU, but I got Versagel from a company in California that sells small quantities:http://www.tkbtrading.com/item.php?item_id=866

I wasn’t successful at getting a clear oil serum, though. It is a real pain to work with.
