@Gunther I heated Tridecyl Alcohol Ethoxylate and mixed wax in it. After, for testing pupose mixed it in a pre made sles, capb, water mixture. The wax isnt pure, it is wood wax. Even though I think the process worked.I have ordered t3 wax. After getting it I may be able to understand it further.

If you could, pls share your method.

@Jennycat  Yes easy rinse is one of the target. The foam height is higher in B’s so isn’t b is much better in foaming also?

Thank you very much chickenskin. It is helpful. This method uses a polymer to disperse wax in the formula. I really want to know how to mix carnauba wax as emulsification.

What’s the formula like so you can get useful replies?
Nobody leaves a car shampoo on for 6 hours so it doesn’t matter.

What matters for car shampoos is to try to emulsify some wax (i.e. carnauba wax) and get at least some useful wax deposition.

Can you please suggest how to emulsify and incorporate carnauba wax in a car shampoo formulation?

@Gunther  Only expecting comments foaming charesterics.  I don’t need any  change in formula, thats why I didn’t typed the formula. 6 hrs isnt to leave the shampoo in car exterior, its mentioned because even after 6 hours shampoo A left small bubbles in test beaker, and B hadn’t any bubbles left. How you assess this behaviour?
What are you suggesing about wax? Does a car shampoo should completely remove wax or not?

Sticky? Could be carbomer but I doubt that for a number of reasons, one of which is the difficulty of using carbomer in a high % of surfactant, and another, being the cost of doing so. Also, the product doesn’t look clear. I suspect it has a gum, or even several gums, possibly with salt thickening to increase the viscosity further.

I tried carbomer, labsa, capb, makes them cloudy.

@Perry I contacted a beads supplier, he told me those beads are cellulose as @Pharma said. The product I posted here is crazy thick like a gel. (Probably around 3000 cp.) I have took some with fingers and rubbed, it tends to be sticky. Does this indicate that they might be using carbomer to achieve this thickness ?
My formula contains, Labsa 10%, SLES 20%, edta, phenoxyethanol, perfume,
It wold be great help to give me some idea how to achieve enough thickness to be able to suspend those beads. If to use carbomer how much % should I use?

Also, will gelatin beads dissolve when using the product?

Or they could be gelatin beads.  They dont actually do anything but make the product look unique.

Can Gelatine beads float like this? Aren’t they heavy enough to precipitate? Besides their sizes are irregular. I will try to take some of them out and will post a closer image.

Only for aesthetic appeal, making product looks something special.

  • @Gunther Can we determine LABSA quality with its colour? I have seen Light transparent yellowish to Dark chocolate coloured LABSA.
Can we neutralize LABSA with Pottasium Hydroxide? (KOH) Is there any difference using than Sodium Hydroxide?
I have encountered seperation when adding TKPP with neutralized LABSA. Do you have any knowledge about this issue?

    @ozgirl @chemicalmatt
I procured Lauramine Oxide to text a thick sodium hypochlorite based bathroom clea er. How much LAO should I use to achive a pourable thickness? Can you please guide me to a base formula?

  • @Gunther Thank you for your very detailed procedures.

  • @Gunther Did you overcome this isse? I am also facing the same problem.
Mixed 200ml LABSA with 200 ml water.
Ph balanced approx 7 with 50% caustic solution.
After 8 hours normally we can expect a transparent liquid. But in this case the solution is solid thick white paste.

Thank you all for valuable comments. Seems amine oxide is the only way to thicken bleach. Sadly only available in bulk packaging.

@Pharma @Gunther Thank you for your detailed explanations. Me too was concerned about the harshness of DPM/DPG for a frequent use. As mentioned by Gunther Its better not to use it. Instead using ethoxylated alcohol is enough for this purpose.

They’re fairly similar and switching might be possible with only minor adaptations. For what do you need DPM?

As a solvent (3%) for vehicle cleaning shampoo.

Thank you @Perry for your response. I am posting bellow my base formula which is procured from net after some research.
How can I thicken this formulation with or without PVA?

    Sodium Hypochlorite  7%
    SLES 5%
    Tridecyl alcohol ethoxylate 4%
    Sodium Hydroxide 1%
    Sodium Carbonate 1%

Any suggestions? I am asking this because PVA is only available in bulk quantities in my location. Please help if you know.
