Thank you all for your replies. However, I’ve since figured out the formula and I have answered my own questions. I made various changes including less of each as well as how/when I add it to my formula. Thanks again

Also, how much should I use in percentage or grams? I see some things that say as low as 0.1% to 5% and that’s a very wide range.

Hello again. First I’d like to thank you all for your contributions. Your suggestions had made my issue so much clearer that I was able to formulate what I desired! I removed an anionic surfactant, checked and rechecked my electrolyte content, and decided to just forgo the solubilizer. It was not going to give me the result I desired at such amounts where it had to be used for my ideal formulation. So thanks again for all that you do and what you have done! Blessings ????

Thank you for replying. I will try that and let you know how it goes.

I read your forum about Guar HPTC but my version is a low molecular weight so it‘s not like a thick gel settling as I had in the past using a higher molecular weight Guar HPTC. This time around it just looks like some powder of some sort or something but nothing gelatinous, and it moves when I turn the bottle upside down. I am aware that how/when I add my surfactants matters also, but in the literature it said I could add the Guar HPTC after the addition of my surfactants, where I would then adjust my ph 5.0-5.5.

I don’t want to overcrowd the pot so i will try to remove the lamesoft 65. Thanks again

Ugh I never was a simple girl but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try less anionic surfactants after all this time and energy. Thanks Paprik, I’ll let you know!

Yes, I’m aware of those ingredients but it’s for a “natural” formulation course so I can’t use them. I wanted to use a hydroxysultaine but it’s not permitted in my courses ☹️ sorry I should’ve mentioned that before

It’s for a “natural” formulation course so I can’t use carbomer

I’m using so much to solubilize the inula. It doesn’t solubilize with just anything, surfactants included. So I had to use something that can solubilize triglycerides in low amounts and not just essential oils and fragrances. After looking at several products that has similar ingredients (4U by Tia shampoo) that’s what seemed to work well. I used so much because that’s about how much I used in trials. I’ll admit that I can reduce it but I’d have to conduct more experiments to find the correct ratio that works with my surfactant ratio.

Thank you Paprik! I believe that was what needed to be done. I will observe it over several days to make sure, but thanks again. Come to think of it, I think you commented on someone else’s forum that I was reading a while back- I remember your name
