Hi Mike, that is a very sad story. I cannot imagine the pain it caused you seeing something you built with so much love and passion ended because of some one that didn’t care. I am sure she will pay somehow and good things will come for you again. ????

I’m already quite familiar with the theory and the economics behind preservative availability — but appreciate the refresher. My question was specifically about <strong data-start=”346″ data-end=”371″>real-world experience with preservative systems that actually work in high-water, pH ~4.5 emulsions <strong data-start=”450″ data-end=”493″>without parabens or formaldehyde donors.
I’m not looking to rehash industry pricing models or go back to square one in formulation theory — just hoping someone might share what’s worked <em data-start=”641″ data-end=”654″>in practice, rather than what <em data-start=”673″ data-end=”681″>should work in theory.
If you have a specific system to recommend, I’m all ears. Otherwise, no worries — I’ll keep navigating the trial-and-error process on my own.

My formulas are stable, and they have been for a year, I just wanted to try a different preservative.

I forgot to say, I am using Aminosensyl Ultra MB.

Thank you Maiden. I have figured it out. I have just made it again and I am very happy with the consistency. putting it through F/T cycles and incubator ;).
I’ll make the leave in conditioner tomorrow, hopefully my adjusted formula is as I am planning it to be.

Is there a preservative system that you can recommend for the type of products I am talking about.
I am using Aminosensyl ultras MB as my cationic emulsifier. I have checked compatibility with everything I am using in the formula, but I am just having a hard time deciding on a preservative.
