@Perry44 @chemicalmatt @ketchito @Abdullah i’am facing same problem low density of after shampoo with keys ingredients :Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium alcohol, Ceteareth-20, parfum, preservative.

So the best process I reached work with turbine at 30 hz (1800 rpm) for 15 minutes(T=75°C) then slow the speed to 20 hz just for economical reason at T=60°C I stop the turbine then at T=40°C I return on turbine to 30 hz for 10 minutes

All the process I have anchor agitator works from 25 to 35 hz

And at Cool phase I tried work lower speed 25 hz and It gived lower viscosity

Please any solution to solve low density of after shampoo then any correction and improvement for process? Any share, input please

My I will check the pH of mine and tell you but I guess even whitening tooth paste are basic”i know that acidic pH is more efficient for limestone… “

Same constation about ph of tooth paste almost are basic however we can find a lot of them contain sodium benzoate so how use it is preservative for toothpaste ph range?

I haven’t problem in viscosity my formulation is pretty good just the product has low density between 0.91 and 0.93 knowing that it can reach 1

So I want what can I improve in process or formulation to reach density equal 1 just when i’am finishing from production not after days

@Abdullah yes it is hair conditioner, and Cetrimonium Chloride not alcohol Cetrimonium and Cetearyl alcohol near to 5%

Also I worked with and without vacuum and really I didn’t notice any important difference.

Soaping in cream is normal if it doesn’t persist this is something of thinking about the box.

i don’t think that 0.8% GMS SE cause soaping , actually i find it from best emulsifier for getting better emulsion , may adding silicone will solve the problem (i find that ceteareth-20 not really good for emulsion texture).

@KRISTIANA any answer after giving the laboratory details? then when the recirculation is needed? And What is the best cooling rate for emulsion according to you?

the batch in laboratory is 100 grammes with turbine agitator.

There is no recirculation system in industrial batch. (is the equipment is qualified I already make description if you can share your opinion about that question)
The process is described in specific paper for sure with all details… And the operator is doctor in chemistry.

Cooling speed for laboratory it needs just an hour to decrease from 75 to 40 °C however in industrial batch it needs more then 4 hours.

Wich rest you will check the droplets of emulsion and what will benifit knowing that?

@Herbnerd thanks a lot for you interesting share, I want to know why your preference is sodium cmc and according to what you chose sush surfactants?

@chemicalmatt any idea about the stability of Glyceryl Stearate S.E. @ 4.0% | Polysorbate 80 at 1.5% please.

For Gms Se 4% and polysorbate 80 1.5% the hlb of the emulsifiers is inferior then 8 will this system lead to a stable o/w emulsion?

Gms se alone will not lead to stable emulsion.

I already read about high ethoxylated product and deactivation of phenoxyethanol in scientific pdf paper just I forgot the reference if I find it I will share that.

Not for all batches we find problem .
how to reheat and mix ? as heating nothing special same for mixing.
About mixing in cool down i guess it is true accordiong to older production.

    1) batch size almost 300 kg mixing with both anchor agitator and Turbine agitator placed in the bottom of the tank ( i have also dobt that bad ratio made between (turbine diameter/tank diameter) is bad , in bibliography ratio almost superior then 0.25 in our case it is inferior then 0.20 even the place of turbine in the bottom is not the adequat place according to what i saw in my class and bibliography (generally it is placed higher then the bottom ) @Juggsy any comment about these details i will be soo thankful .
About heating and cooling it is double wall tank .

    2) As described , yes with mixing by turbine.

    3) You ask about frequence ? the question is not clear for me if you can explain more.

@Juggsy thanks a lot for your awsome answer and explanation really very informative. About brevity, reading your answer i wanted to read more and find longer answer🙂❤️. Keep sharing interesting details and sush on long answers because they are a real tresor.
