I need to start wearing a mask when I formulate with SL, I can taste salt for hours.
Never heard of isopentyldiol….what is SA? -
See more misinformation in the USA regarding what the EU bans. We can thank the Kardashians for that lol. Also, interesting that you say that the EU is not “safer” than the US. Thanks for clarifying. Now I can say they aren’t banned.

Also, I got some clarification. The alcohol is just part of the witch hazel comp so I am guessing maybe 14%. It’s not anything added extra.

Thank you @letsalcido
I will experiment with those percentages! Super helpful. The toner is super emollient so I am not sure what type of alcohol they are using because it’s not dehydrating at all. hmmm.Thank you @africanbug for the recommendations.
@chemicalmatt I figured there was too much in there. I am happy to “tone” it down, no pun intended haha.

Cool, cool, thanks for your help. I am trying to make a toner and just needed an idea of what a typical one looks like. It doesn’t have to be exact or even use these exact ingredients.

I thought it was 2% for OTC and doctors could do 4%. I hadn’t heard it changed.

If I am a skincare professional selling to other skincare professionals I just need to follow the label criteria and not go through the very expensive process of registering each product I create with the FDA, correct?

Yes and yes! I did use a stick blender which only has one speed (high) and those bubbles are still trapped. What do you advise using? I think you posted about stick blenders too and perhaps I need a pricey one that can blend on low.I did use the liquid HA and I tried increasing it and it was still very viscous so I added the Xanthan Gum, stick blended, and created a crappy product. I just purchased powder HA today so I’ll just try creating it again without Xanthan and just use powder HA.
Thanks!

I had some strong stuff from the Philippines and it lightened my melasma so quickly. I got scared of it though and threw it out. lol who knows what else was in there since it was just in an unmarked jar. maybe mercury.

I agree with your list minus sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate. I know I’ll be the black sheep for saying it. I’ve worked with acne clients for 15 years and those two are terrible for acne prone skin. That’s my 2 cents but it’s based off of Dr. Fulton’s research and he wrote the book on acne. 🙂 -

do you mind sharing your template for me to use? I can give you my email. Thank you for considering! Also, can you work backwards? For example, if I know what I want the ph to be can I add that percentage first and then add in the lactic and lactate? -

MemberMay 22, 2020 at 2:50 pm in reply to: What can I add to this formula to make it feel niceroh wow, ok, thank you. Yes, I am using 90% lactic acid. So then if I am only using 4.960 of lactic acid then would that change my formula to a 5% lactic acid serum? (I rounded up)

just curious why do you say to add sodium lactate to lactic acid?
