Belassi, a couple of points on packaging since it’s one of the main hurdles for small manufacturers. 1) When you want to use a third party packaging company is because in my experience you are gonna be required MOQs of probably 10k maybe 5k per product is this the case?
2) If you are gonna have those kind of volumes then will it make sense for you to have a third party manufacturing, filling and packaging your formulation? -

Thank you for the good information @Belassi it actually looks like a nice project to try I just wonder about the smell I suppose a 1% fragrance could be added and also I would probably add a small percentage of calendula extract for marketing purposes

@Bobzchemist I purchased 3lb of steam distilled indonesian Patchouli dark the purpose is for to use it in soaps and fragrances, however a customer is asking me to thicken it (?), my first impulse is to dilute it in Jojoba oil to keep it natural, however I’m wondering if there is a suitable oil compatible thickener that will do. Thanks

love, I’m in the same category as you, I’ve been acquiring equipment one item at a time, however a friend of mine who manufactures industrial adhesives mentioned to me once about occasional auctions for used lab equipment, when companies go belly up, the savings are simply amazing, the difficult part is to know when this auctions happen and what kind of publications pass the message. I’ll check back with him to find out more.

I would love to see a practical course to become a formulator with a solid base of knowledge in a realistic time frame
Keep the good work!
