You’ll need to provide more information about your formula to get any good answers. Ethanol does not need to be neutralized.

If you are using acrylates copolymer for thickening then you may use TEA,NaOH Etc.

I was using Aminomethyl Propanol (AMP Ultra PC2000). We have used Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer for thickening
Product was very clear
