I am hoping one of the EXPERTS on here can help me. My manufacturing facility is currently preparing a product to be made at their facility. We use an ingredient called Procol CS-20-D from Protameen Chemicals. They are short 2 kilos and the ingredients are already in the kettle and can’t wait for us to overnight this to them.

    <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>Procol™ CS-20-D

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Protameen Chemicals

Cetearyl alcohol (and) Ceteareth 20. Procol™ CS-20-D by Protameen Chemicals acts as a surfactant, wetting agent, emulsifier, solubilizer, conditioner and coupling agent. Procol™ CS-20-D has broad pH compatibility. It is used in various cosmetic and toiletries such as cream rinses, conditioners, bath oils, creams, lotions, deodorants, anti-perspirants and shaving product

They have Glyceryl Stearate and Stearyl Alcohol in their stock. Can you suggest anything that we could add or use for the 2 kilos we are short?

    Thank you!

2kg short for what batch size?

The procol SDS I see lists the blend as ~20% ceteareth-20 (not sure you can/should try to substitute that out), and ~80% cetearyl alcohol. That 80% you could replace with cetyl and stearyl alcohol, usually in a 30:70 blend respectively. So 480g cetyl, 1120g stearyl to add to your batch, hopefully that helps.

Ingredient labeling compliance may be tough.
