    Hi everyone!

I am formulating shower gel with a thickening agent guar gum. One time the gel shows up relatively
transparent, smooth, and clear, and stays like this over time. Then I
am happy with it. Some other time, and here comes the problem, the
gel appears cloudy, yellowish, and very soon phases appear.
What confuses me mostly is that both results I can get with the same ingredients used. The difference may just lay in %.
First I thought the problem may be in a change of supplier but it was not.

Here are some results for comparison. The formulations with 400 g and 100 g were successful. Both 500 g formulations were cloudy.
                                                                                         400 g     500 g
    Water                                                                             86%     81%
    Mipa-Laureth Sulfate and Cocoamidoprophyl Betaine   4%      7,5%
    Lactic acid                                                                       0,1%   0,1%
    Coco-Glucoside and Glyceryl Oleate                              2%       3%
    Glycerine                                                                        6%       6%
    Guar gum                                                                      1%        1,8%
    Preservative                                                                  1%         0,5%

                                                                                        100 g     500 g
    Water                                                                             84%     84%
    Mipa-Laureth Sulfate and Cocoamidoprophyl Betaine    4%      4%
    Lactic acid                                                                       0,1%   0,1%
    Coco-Glucoside and Glyceryl Oleate                              3%       3%
    Glycerine                                                                        6%       6%
    Guar gum                                                                      2%         2%
    Preservative                                                                  0,5%      0,5%

The successful variant 400 g I still want to improve with more guar gum (thicker) and more Mipa-Laureth Sulfate (more foam). But as soon as I change % then the show gel appears cloudy and separates in phases. I always add ingredients in the same order glycerine, guar gum, detergents, water, acid, preservative. What can course such a problem (cloudy, yellowish, phases)?
