stearic acid is usually used as neutralized emulsifier in lotions and if this is the case, the answer is no.stearine, is a triglyceride composed of three stearic acid units/unit of glycerin and an oil which has to be saponified to yield stearic acid and glycerine.Sometimes SA is called stearin (no e) and in this case both are synonomous.
