I’m new to organic formulating and would love to stability test different formulations. The tests don’t need to be accurate. The cost of getting it done from a lab would be prohibitive for me at this point. But I would not want to market my products with testing. Any advice on how I can stability test at home would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you asking about stability (does not separate)….or preservation (germs, mold, yeast…etc).

If stability….use a centrifuge.  If you don’t have that….put in a clear container and place it in your sunniest window. :) Generally toss in a couple cycles in the freezer as well.  That will give a rudimentary result.

Unclear if you said you would market products - but if you’re limited to what you can do at home - do not market.  You are responsible for the product safety (chemcial, microbiological) - an affirmative, data-based effort.  You’re not going to generate necessary data at home.

agree as we are responsible for product integrity and safety. You need professional stability testing which is not expensive or you could invest in Tempered Oven/s and refidgerator for low temps ie freeze/thaw etc
